My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
It fills my heart with joy to wish each one of you a very blessed and Merry Christmas. This is my second Christmas with you as your pastor, and I cannot help but look back with gratitude at the many ways the Lord has blessed our parish over these past eighteen months.
I thank God for the wonderful things He continues to accomplish in our midst. Our community has grown, new ministries have taken shape, and together we have continued our journey of serving the Lord with joy and generosity. None of this would have been possible without your openness to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for saying “yes” to the Lord, to His Church, and to one another.
Our Simbang Gabi (Christmas Novena) Masses have been a beautiful preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of our Lord. I am certain that those who have taken part will experience a deep and special joy this Christmas. Rising early and coming to Mass at 5:30 a.m. is no easy task. Yet when we reflect on the immense love of the Son of God—who entered the world in such humility, born in poverty, and who later endured suffering and death for our salvation—our small sacrifices become a grateful offering of love in return.
May the Infant Jesus bless every one of our families with peace, joy, and hope this Christmas.
In Christ,
Fr. James Cherickal
